October Seasonals – Once Bitten and Fresh Hop
A smoky and spooky copper ale will join a hoppy and playful pale as our October seasonal offerings.
Once Bitten, a 4% stalwart of our seasonal range, is returning to the bar in time for Halloween with its characteristic smoky and slightly spicy notes.
Brewed with Admiral, Goldings and Challenger hops, the copper ale boasts a herbal and spicy cedar aroma with hints of pine, chocolate and molasses alongside subtle hints of orange and herbs.
Joining it is Fresh Hop, a pale ale packed full of fruity flavours with a vibrant golden hue.
The 4.2% pale is a celebration of the Jester hop, which we add towards the end of the brewing process to preserve its precious aromas and accentuate its distinctive lychee, grapefruit and blackcurrant flavours.
Aaron Taubman, our Head Brewer, said: “We might be waving goodbye to summer, but the changing of the season is an exciting one with these two additions.
“Once Bitten is always popular when it hits the bars – it wouldn’t be autumn in Norfolk without its spicy, warming flavours.
“What makes Fresh Hop so special isn’t simply the freshly harvested Jester hops we source directly from the fields of Worcester – it’s the way we use them.
“Adding them later in the brewing process means we don’t lose out on their incredible flavour, which together with Maris Otter and Crystal malts makes for a really special ale.”
Our seasonal offerings are available exclusively in cask to our on-trade customers for one month only, meaning when they’re gone – they’re gone.
Venues looking to stock Once Bitten and Fresh Hop behind their bar are encouraged to order early to avoid disappointment – or face another year’s wait to get their hands on them.
