‘Golden Delight’ unveiled as August Brewer Signature

The perfect accompaniment to the summer sunshine has been unveiled in the form of our latest Brewer Signature, Golden Delight.

Delightful by name and delightful by nature, this easy-drinking, sessionable golden best bitter is the brainchild of our brewer Ben Askew.

Ben said the 4.3% brew epitomises what makes a proper best bitter while remaining a great choice to drink in the summer sun.

Hops used in the August brew include Fuggle, Golden and Bramling Cross.

Ben, who has worked at Woodforde’s for the last six years, added: “Customers can expect a sessionable golden -bitter brewed using British hops.

“The aromas from the hops aren’t going to be overpowering, but will complement the beer nicely.

“I thought it would be nice to bring out a more traditional, golden, sessionable drinking beer. It is going to be very good for summer drinking.”

Ben said the inspiration behind Golden Delight is the ales he first enjoyed after turning 18, drawing on the memories spend with his dad.

He said: “I’m passionate about beer as my dad was always a CAMRA member and we grew up around sports clubs.

“Ever since I was legally able to, my drink of choice has always been a real ale.”

Our Brewer Signature range sees a different member of the Woodforde’s team work with our Head Brewer, Aaron Taubman to develop their own unique beer every month.
