Golden Delight Returns! Your Perfect Pint for Those Sunny Days

Back by popular demand, our much-loved Brewer Signature beer Golden Delight is making a triumphant return – this time as our seasonal release for May. Originally launched in August last year, it quickly became a customer favourite, thanks to its refreshing character and classic style.

Crafted by brewer Ben Askew, Golden Delight is a 4.3% golden best bitter designed with sunshine sipping in mind. Sessionable and full of charm, it celebrates everything we love about a proper British bitter – with a golden twist perfect for warmer weather.

Ben, who’s been with Woodforde’s for six years, describes it as:

“A traditional, golden, sessionable bitter brewed using British hops. The aromas aren’t overpowering – they’re well-balanced and complement the beer beautifully. I wanted to create something classic, easy-drinking, and ideal for long afternoons in the sun.”

The recipe features Fuggle, Goldings, and Bramling Cross hops – all chosen for their smooth, balanced flavour and subtle aromas.

Inspired by Ben’s early days of enjoying real ale with his dad at local sports clubs, Golden Delight is a personal homage to the beers that first sparked his passion for brewing.

“Real ale has always been my drink of choice. My dad was a CAMRA member, and we were always surrounded by good beer and good company. That’s the spirit behind Golden Delight.”
