Rising Once Again – Phoenix IPA Returns for May

Back by popular demand, our celebrated seasonal ale Phoenix IPA is making its return to pubs this May – and it's just as bold and bright as ever.

Originally brewed in 1983 to mark our return to Norfolk after a devastating fire, Phoenix IPA stands as a symbol of our resilience and reinvention. Relaunched last year as a Southern Hemisphere IPA, it’s back once more with its vibrant, zesty personality – ready to light up pint glasses across the country.

This year’s brew remains true to its Southern Hemisphere roots, boasting a 4.2% ABV and a golden pour packed with aromatic hops from New Zealand and Australia. Expect a lavish array of flavours from Nelson Sauvin, Moteuka, Nectaron and Vic Secret – with notes of grapefruit, lime, white grape and orange bursting through.

Aaron Taubman, Head Brewer at Woodforde’s, said:
"We had such a fantastic response to Phoenix IPA last year that we knew we had to bring it back. It’s crisp, sessionable, and packed with character – the perfect May pint."

"The Southern Hemisphere hops bring a whole new dimension to the style, offering subtlety, tropical aromas, and citrusy freshness that’s too often overlooked in the UK."

Phoenix IPA is exclusively available in cask throughout May – but only while stocks last.

Joe Parks, Woodforde’s CEO, added:
"Phoenix IPA tells a story of transformation – both of the beer and the brewery behind it."

"Its return highlights our commitment to keeping cask beer exciting, diverse and deeply rooted in storytelling. With two specials every month, we’re proud to give publicans and drinkers across East Anglia something to shout about."

Pubs looking to stock Phoenix IPA should contact the Woodforde’s team on 01603 720353 to secure their supply.
