Cuppa Joe – our November seasonal stout

A delicious coffee-infused, American-style breakfast stout is our new November seasonal – Cuppa Joe - in partnership with Green Farm Coffee.

With its intense dark colour and well-rounded flavours, our new stout is the perfect pint as the longer nights draw in.

Our brewers have bean busy selecting a unique African coffee, treated with thermal shock, to use in our new stout, giving Cuppa Joe wonderfully balanced fruit undertones.

These complement the rich roasted and chocolate flavours coming from the carefully selected malts.

This new Woodforde’s brew features the most diverse malt profiles we have ever used -  including Maris Otter, Black Malt, Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Flaked Oats, Crystal Malt, Munich Malt and Wheat Malt.

For hops, we’ve added American Simcoe and Cascade, which deliver a touch of piney bitterness to round out the flavours.

Head brewer Aaron Taubman said: “We are excited to release our brilliant new seasonal stout, Cuppa Joe.

“Cuppa Joe is a rich and well-rounded stout with wonderful fruity undertones– the perfect pint to enjoy in a warm, cozy pub this month.

“It’s also International Stout Day the first week of November – so what better way of celebrating than with a pint of our November seasonal.

“Trust me – a latte love has gone into making this coffee-inspired stout!”

Ross McIntyre, Technical Coffee Manager at Green Farm Coffee, said: “Making a coffee stout is a very exciting prospect for a coffee roaster who also enjoys beer, like myself.

“This stout, with Aaron’s coffee choice will be completely unique given the multi-step fermentation the coffee has gone through before it even gets to the beer.

“It’s an incredible coffee and will add remarkable flavour to the stout.”

Woodforde’s seasonal beers are available exclusively in cask to our on-trade customers for one month only – which means once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Pubs looking to stock Cuppa Joe behind their bar are encouraged to order early to avoid disappointment.
