Creating a Brewer Signature beer unlike any we have offered before was a piece of cake for Brewer and avid baker Rik Hurd.

Eighteen-year Woodforde’s veteran Rik is the mastermind behind this Brewer Signature offering, Red and Berried.

The 4.8% porter is the product of his two greatest loves – baking and beer.

Red and Berried is brewed using a light chocolate malt with hints of vanilla and raspberry, culminating in a rich chocolatey finish complemented with fruity raspberry notes.

He said: “I love it when you try a real ale and you get a really fresh, new flavour that you’ve not encountered before.

“The inspiration behind the beer was very much my love of baking. I thought my signature brew was the perfect opportunity to marry the two together – so you get the best flavours of brewing and the best flavours of baking all in one fantastic package.”

Brewer Signature beers are exclusively available in cask and pubs are encouraged to place their orders early to avoid missing out.
