The Return of Kett’s Rebellion: A Norfolk Classic Rises Again

As the leaves turn and the nights draw in, we’re welcoming back a beer that’s been requested time and time again by publicans and drinkers alike. This autumn, we’re proud to announce the return of Kett’s Rebellion, our copper-coloured best bitter that first won hearts across Norfolk and beyond.

Back from our brewhouse archives and available exclusively to pubs, this seasonal favourite brings with it both depth of flavour and a rich story rooted in local heritage.

A Beer with History in Every Sip

Kett’s Rebellion commemorates one of the most significant moments in Norfolk’s past — the summer of 1549, when Robert Kett led the peasants’ revolt against land enclosures. From the oak of Kett’s Oak near Wymondham to the march on Norwich, his stand for fairness and community has long been part of the county’s proud folklore. Our beer of the same name celebrates that same spirit — bold, honest, and unmistakably Norfolk.

This 4.3% copper-coloured ale pours with an inviting glow and offers a sweet biscuit malt base, overlaid with notes of floral hops, grapefruit, peach, and lychee. It’s an excellent, rich, rounded, full best bitter — the kind of pint that invites conversation and lingers on the palate.
