Beer aficionados have poured over one of Woodforde’s latest creations after it scooped Gold at a regional awards ceremony.
Hazy IPA, a part of Woodforde’s New World Brewing range, took home the plaudits in the Keg Pale Ales category at this year’s SIBA East Independent Beer Awards.
Organised every year by the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA), the awards recognise the best beer brewed by independent breweries across the eastern region.
Aaron Taubman, Woodforde’s Head Brewer and the brainchild behind the beer, said: “It is brilliant to take home such a prestigious award – especially for such a new beer.
“We launched the New World Brewing range back in May to introduce our customers to bold new flavours and showcase the breadth of talent we have here in the brewing team.
“Taking home Gold in such a hotly-contested category proves just that.
“Hazy IPA has been a hit since its launch and can be found in pubs across Norfolk – hopefully this win will help expand that reach even further.”
The New World Brewing range is inspired by Aaron’s history as a craft brewer – emerging from the American craft boom in the 90s and early 2000s before he joined Woodforde’s in 2023.
Hazy IPA is brewed using Citra and El Dorado hops to deliver a citrus kick with a smooth and refreshing finish.
Both Hazy IPA and its sister beer, Tropical IPA are available both on-trade and off-trade in 30L kegs and 440mL cans.
SIBA East Regional Director, Ian Rydings, added: “The quality of beers in this year’s keg competition was incredibly high and showed the breadth of quality beers in every style now being brewed across the region.
“Massive congratulations to all of this year’s winners.”
