July seasonal – West Coast Wherry
Our beloved Wherry’s American twin is coming to cask this month in the form of our July seasonal.
West Coast Wherry, originally a part of our FIFTYTWO° North craft range, is returning to the bar for one month only – and will be exclusively available in cask for the very first time.
The 4.3% amber ale pays homage to our multi-award-winning, Supreme Champion Beer of Britain, Wherry, by mixing the best of English malts with American hops.
Those hops include Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Columbus and Citra – all combined to create a refreshing beer with a crisp aroma and finish.
Its return marks the first time our American-born Head Brewer, Aaron Taubman, has worked on the recipe.
He said: “West Coast Wherry really is the best of both worlds when it comes to the highest quality of ingredients.
“Britain is renowned for its malts and America for its hops – so it’s good to see the ‘special relationship’ between our two countries extend to beer.
“You can expect lots of spicy and fruity flavours from the mix of hops we’ve put in, while keeping a lot of the malty bitterness we know and love from a regular pint of Wherry. It’s a great session beer to enjoy in the sunshine.
“Don’t worry – our original Wherry is not going anywhere. It’s our best-seller for a reason.
“But let’s just say I know what beer I’ll be raising come the fourth of July!”
As with all our monthly seasonals, West Coast Wherry will only be available in cask to our on-trade customers for a limited time.
